When he committed suicide, shooting himself at his girlfriend’s birthday party last July 12, Ben Keough, son of Lisa Marie Presley and grandson of the legendary Elvis, had alcohol and cocaine in his body. This is revealed by the autopsy report obtained from the Sun, who records the death as suicide caused by a gunshot wound, adding that the 27-year-old tested positive for alcohol and cocaine. Also according to the autopsy document, Ben had already attempted to take his own life five or six months before the desperate act in July and three months ago he had suffered a severe relapse into depression.
Three times in rehab
Apparently, however, he had not asked anyone for help to overcome his mental problems, also aggravated by the abuse of alcohol and illicit substances such as cocaine, addictions that he had tried in vain to cure with several admissions to rehabilitation centers (he had been in rehab three times, but completing the program only once). The report also talks about an alleged quarrel between Elvis’s heir and his girlfriend, Diana Pinto, recorded by surveillance cameras in the courtyard of the Calabasas villa owned by Presley and the scene of the suicide, just before Ben went to the bathroom. and the fatal gunshot could be heard echoing. No farewell notes were found at the scene of the suicide and young Ben was later buried in Graceland’s Garden of Meditation in Memphis, next to his celebrated grandfather.
