WASHINGTON (AP) – President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, were diagnosed with COVID-19 on the same day. He has already returned to the campaign events, but the first lady has still not reappeared in public.

The last time Melania Trump provided an update on her health status was more than a week ago, when she noted that her symptoms were mild, and the White House has not said when her next public appearance will be.

The role he will play in the final weeks of the election campaign remains a question mark as Trump kicks off a schedule of daily rallies until the November 3 elections.

“My family appreciates all of your prayers and support! I feel good and will continue to rest at home, ”the first lady tweeted on October 5, three days after the president announced that both had been infected with coronavirus and would be in quarantine.

“Thank you to the medical staff and caregivers everywhere, and my continued prayers for those who are ill or have a family member affected by the virus,” he wrote.

Melania Trump was last seen on September 29, accompanying the president to Cleveland for his nationally televised debate with Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Prior to that trip, he attended a Sept. 26 meeting at the White House Rose Garden, now believed to be a “super spread” event for the virus. That day, the president introduced his Supreme Court nominee, Justice Amy Coney Barrett, to dozens of guests who sat a short distance from each other, many of them without masks. Subsequently, several of those present tested positive for COVID-19.

The first lady’s office did not provide an update on his health status Tuesday. The president’s campaign referred the questions to the White House.
