If the hotels of the Sofitel brand are distinguished by something, it is for being great promoters of French culture in any of their locations. The Sofitel Mexico City Reforma is no exception and they have launched an experience called Sofitel Wine Days in order for its guests to discover some of the most emblematic wines from different regions of France.
The hotel’s executive chef, Alexis Preschez, has created a menu based on Mexican ingredients –mainly from Puebla and the State of Mexico– that pairs perfectly with selected wines. The experience takes place at the Balta restaurant, located on the 12th floor of the hotel, and will be available throughout the month of October. “Cultural diversity brings us great knowledge and we can find it in customs, art, music and, of course, in the great variety of drinks and gastronomic experiences that, through their unique flavors and aromas, allow us to travel around the world. world without leaving home. In this sense, we are very happy to be able to celebrate the first edition of “Sofitel Wine Days”, where we will offer our visitors and guests an exquisite selection of French wines, as well as a special menu with Mexican ingredients, ”says Preschez.
Among the dishes included in the menu, which has a cost of 395 pesos, are a toast of pickled mushrooms; ax callus and pambazos with Riesling; red snapper with broad beans, smoked lardon and peach; and confit duck phithiviers and wild mushrooms, among others. To accompany them, wines from Burgundy and Alsace have been selected, which will be sold by the glass at a price of around 190 pesos. The restaurant’s expert staff will be able to make the best recommendations for diners, who in turn have in this experience an opportunity to rediscover the city, accompanied by the flavors of Mexico and France.
