WASHINGTON, Oct 15 (Reuters) – U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Thursday he will continue to try to reach an agreement on a coronavirus relief package with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, before the November 3 elections.

The official added that disagreements over a national strategy to screen people for COVID-19 will not derail negotiations.

“When I speak with Pelosi today, I will tell her that we are not going to let the issue of testing get in the way, that we will fundamentally agree on the language subject to some minor issues. The importance of this issue has been overstated,” Mnuchin said in an interview with CNBC.
