Navarra has registered its fourth consecutive day with more than 400 coronavirus infections. Yesterday, the Health department detected 427 new cases of COVID-19 infection after carrying out 3,049 PCR tests, according to data provided by the Navarra Institute of Public and Labor Health (ISPLN). These data represent 14% positives, in a day in which four deaths were reported, corresponding to two women of 97 and 82 years, and two men of 92 and 89 years. 263 patients are admitted to the integrated health network of Navarra and there are 33 people with the virus in ICUs.
Pamplona and Comarca account for 58% of the positives, followed by the Tudela Area, with 13% and the Estella Area, with 8% of the cases. The rest of the positives, 21%, are distributed by other areas of Navarra. Regarding the age groups, yesterday the majority group was 15 to 29 years old, with 28%, followed by 30 to 44 years old, with 23%; then the groups aged 45 to 59 with 19%, and those under 15 with 14%. Finally, the group between 60 and 75 years old, with 11% and the group over 75 years old, with 5%. The mean age of the new cases is 37.3 years. Regarding gender, 53% are men and 47% women.
During the day yesterday there were 23 new admissions due to the virus, one of them in the ICU. According to the Navarre Health Service-Osasunbidea (SNS-O), after the balance of income and discharges, 263 people remain hospitalized with and for coronavirus (seven more than yesterday). Of the people admitted, 33 are in the ICU, one more person than the day before and 47 patients in home hospitalization (one more than the day before). The 183 remaining patients are on the floor (7 more than yesterday).
As for the cumulative incidence of virus infections, adding yesterday’s cases, it stands at 21,728 people and the total number of deaths since the pandemic began is 617.
