New York Fed's Williams Says Challenging Time For Some Sectors Of The Economy

Oct 16 (Reuters) – Some segments of the U.S. economy, including travel, hotels and the arts, will continue to struggle as the economy recovers from the damage caused by the pandemic, but joint efforts by the government, community leaders and businesses will help sectors rebound, New York Fed Bank Chairman John Williams said on Friday.

“I still think the fundamentals of the industry are very strong,” Williams said during a virtual arts and culture event hosted by the New York Fed.

“I’m optimistic about the long-term period, I think it will only be a challenging period until it gets there.
