Nissan has already announced that there will be a Nismo version of its Z coupe.
La Nissan From Proto that the Japanese manufacturer unveiled last week is playing the retro card. The designers drew on the model’s long history to create a sports car with an irresistible look.
But unfortunately, Nissan has clarified that this coupe, which effectively replaces the 370Z coupe will not arrive in Europe. On the other hand, the good news for those who will benefit from it is that the manufacturer has also specified that there will be a version We are not in cartons. At least a better version, without specifying whether it would be a Nismo precisely. But between us, what else could it be?
That’s why we decided to imagine what this Nissan Z Nismo would look like, and to illustrate it with a rendering that is larger than life!
If Nissan were indeed to offer the new Z Nismo, it can be expected to resemble other recent Nismo. The rendering shows the car wearing specific rocker panels, a large rear spoiler and hood vents. The configuration and design are similar to those of the GT-R Nismo 2020, with the curved front lip located under the large square grille.
The illustration also features red accents along the side mirrors and on the wider side skirts. A rear diffuser is barely visible at the rear while a Nismo badge at the top right of the grille completes the sporty look.
The Z Proto concept that Nissan revealed last week has a twin-turbo V6 engine, without the manufacturer giving details of the specifications. Rumors suggest that Nissan will borrow the engine from the Infiniti Red Sport models, which would give the “normal” Z coupe more than 400 horsepower. So a Z Nismo model would probably do a lot more than that, either with a different tuning or with an entirely different engine.
We don’t know when a Nismo version might arrive, but Nissan may offer an electric version of Nismo in the future, although that is a decision dictated by customers. We have a bit of time left before the new Z goes on sale, and while the Z Proto is very appealing, this again is just a concept. We can’t wait to see what Nissan does in the markets that will be affected, and of course also to see the Nismo version land!
