Şahin Akın, who died 12 years ago in BURSA, was fined last year for illegally crossing the 15 July Martyrs Bridge in Istanbul and the Istanbul-Ankara highway with his tractor. “The tractor has been in the garage for 8 years,” said Ali Akın (55), who was astonished when he saw the receipt of his deceased father.
A total of 71 lira and 25 kuruş was fined for the 16 KE 323-plate tractor belonging to Şahin Akın, who died in 2008, in the rural Çakırca District of Iznik for illegal crossing from the Istanbul 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Istanbul-Ankara highway. The receipt issued to the tractor in July-August 2019 reached farmer Ali Akın, son of Şahin Akın, on September 14. Ali Akın, who was astonished when he received the penalty receipt, said that the tractor had been stopped in the garage for 8 years and had not been moved. Writing a petition to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and objecting to the penalty, Ali Akın said, “The tractor has been standing in the garden as a scrap for 7-8 years. My father has passed away for 12 years. The penalty has been sent for illegal crossing over the bridge once again,” he said.
