As a gift from the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Japan (CBCJ), His Holiness Pope Francis received in Vatican City, a Toyota Mirai adapted to your mobility needs.
Like all popemobiles, the Toyota Mirai given to the Papa presents some adjustments so that it is seen in his public transfers and his access is comfortable and practical.
Through this series of adaptations made to the bodywork, the electric vehicle obtains a length of 5.1 meters and a height (including the roof) of 2.7 meters, which allows the Pope to stand upright and be visible to people.
The most remarkable thing about this Mirai turned into a kind of pickup, is that there is a redesigned rear with a raised seat and a safety cage, which allows followers of the Pope to see him during their tours in front of the public.
There is also an LED lighting system, a pair of Vatican diplomatic flags on the front, a pair of gold insignia from the Vatican and a mounted rear door step, to allow the Pope easy access.
About the Toyota Mirai
- It is powered by a 153 hp electric motor, powered by an electric hydrogen generator.
- Its system provides a range of 500 kilometers.
- Because the powertrain generates electricity by combining hydrogen with ambient air, the only emissions that come out of its tailpipe are water.
