WASHINGTON, Oct 14 (Reuters) – US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Wednesday that President Donald Trump told him to continue negotiating with Democrats to try to reach an agreement on a new coronavirus relief package.

“The president told me, keep going until you finish them,” Mnuchin told Fox Business.

The secretary added that an agreement could be reached quickly if the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, compromises.

“If we don’t get it now, when the president wins the election, we will pass it quickly.”
