Magdalena López, CEO and president of Renault México, accompanied by Alexandra Martínez Cairo, director of marketing, and Manuel Álvarez, product manager of the French firm in the national territory, virtually unveiled the new Kangoo ZE (whose initials are derived from Zero Emissions), which is already on sale in Aztec soil in the Cargo Maxi versions – $ 699,900 – and 5 Maxi Passengers that adds a bench for three passengers as well as pilot and copilot, with a price of 740,300 pesos.

Renault Kangoo ZE electrifies the city

The first electric commercial and passenger van in Mexico is one more example of Renault’s commitment to the planet and future generations and reinforces the brand’s leadership in the energy transition of the automotive industry.

Produced in France, this van incorporates a reversible synchronous electric motor – developed by Renault – with 33 kWh lithium-ion batteries that delivers 60 horsepower and delivers 167 lb / ft of maximum torque, guaranteeing a real autonomy in use of delivery 200 km and a maximum speed of 130 km / h, with a silent handling, which allows a quiet driving without noise pollution.

With the proper name that Kangoo represents and the prestige of being the best-selling electric van in Europe, its Zero Emissions version arrives in Mexico, to provide carbon-free mobility for urban centers and, at the same time, allow companies take action in caring for the environment.

“Free of ownership and verifications due to its ecological component, Kangoo ZE is an extremely attractive product to boost competitiveness, profitability and the environmental commitment of businesses that incorporate commercial fleets, thanks to the fact that it is 90% cheaper compared to combustion vans, for its low energy and maintenance costs ”, explained Alexandra Martínez Cairo, marketing director of the French brand in Mexico.

The Renault Kango ZE is only offered in Mexico in the Maxi (long) version, 4.66 meters long, with a volumetric capacity of 4.6 m³ (3.5 m³ passenger version). The payload volume is 670 kg for the cargo and 640 for the passenger.

To access the storage area, they have a sliding side door (right) and a double-leaf tailgate that can be opened up to 180 degrees, allowing large objects to easily pass through.

Thanks to its space of 4.6 cubic meters and its load capacity of up to 670 kg, the new Kangoo ZE stands out as a last mile solution that goes beyond the reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, as it seeks also reduce road congestion in cities, improve air quality and use resources more efficiently. Kangoo ZE has three doors designed to facilitate access and meet the load requirements of any business: a sliding side and two asymmetric rear doors with 180 ° opening.

In addition to its five-year defense-to-defense guarantee, in terms of safety, the new Renault Kangoo ZE has two airbags for driver and passenger, ABS brakes with Emergency Brake Assist (AFU), which applies maximum force in an emergency stop; It also incorporates Hill Start Assist (HSA) that prevents Kangoo ZE from going backwards when starting uphill; and Stability Control (ESP) that is activated to prevent the van from skidding by locking the wheels.

Available in a wide range of colors, Renault incorporates in the first 100 percent electric van marketed in the country, technology and comfort components that are not usually found in utility vehicles, for example, audio equipment with MP3, USB, auxiliary and Bluetooth plus four speakers, steering wheel audio controls, air conditioning, and the EcoDrive system that provides tips for improving driving style and driving even more energy efficiency.
