Renault released a preview of its electric hatchback

This vehicle shown appears with a very peculiar design and that speaks of the new direction that the brand will take with its compact hatchback, that of transforming it into an electric SUV.

This concept lets us see what with the new generation of the Megane, beyond the lines, Renault wants to capitalize on the enormous taste of customers for crossovers or SUVs.

For that reason, this concept has adopted design and measures that bring it closer to the terrain of SUVs.

The measurements reported by the brand are 4.2 meters long by 1.8 wide and 1.5 high, and it will also adopt the CMF-EV platform.

This platform is also used in Nissan electric vehicles, so we can expect a very spacious interior.

Renault did not show any interior details, as being a concept car only seeks to measure the reaction of potential consumers, public opinion or rival brands.

This Megane eVision Concept will be helped by a 60 kWh battery so its autonomy should be around 400 km per charge.

This battery for now will only power an electric motor capable of generating 217 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be located on the front axle of the vehicle.

Despite being an electric, its weight will be close to 1,650 kg, which exceeds the weight of common hatchbacks.

Renault reports an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in the high zone of 7 seconds.

Neither were details revealed about the loading time or arrival date of the model that will go to production, but it is thought that it should not take too long.
