Located in front of the models, the statuette, which was originally made of tin, had an important modification in 2011, when at the launch of the electric concept 102EX It was presented illuminated and made of a transparent material.

Since 2016, all the models Rolls-Royce offered the renewed badge as an option, which logically gave the vehicles another aspect to appreciate along with the obvious ones because it is already a very high-end model.

Rolls-Royce will no longer be able to include the enlightened Spirit of Ecstasy in their vehicles. This was determined by the European Union, which in order to combat light pollution decided prohibit all illuminated accessories in the hoods of vehicles that circulate on the public roads of the continent.

According to what was reported by the British media Daily Mail, Rolls-Royce knew of this measure since the beginning of 2019, so it has already been almost two years without providing the illuminated badge on its models. “Already in February of last year we passed on to our distributors the decision not to sell any more models with the Spirit of Ecstasy illuminated”They commented from the brand.

With regard to the signature models that are already in the hands of their owners and that include the statuette with light, these must be replaced. “We will write to the owners to offer them a refund of the Spirit of Ecstasy, a silver one or another option that we have on hand”, stated the firm owned by BMW. It happens that the badge was not cheap at all, since it was around the USD 4.100.
