In Sakarya, the fires that grew due to the strong winds of stubble burned by insensitive farmers, despite being prohibited, turned thousands of acres of agricultural land into ash in 5 districts.
Although stubble fires are prohibited in many different regions, especially in Sakarya city center, they are still being burned by insensitive farmers. After the harvest, the stubble burned by most field owners became unstoppable. Stubble fires, which were exacerbated by the impact of the strong wind last night, turned many agricultural lands into ash in Adapazarı, Erenler, Akyazı, Arifiye and Hendek districts. Fire crews, 33 vehicles and 76 personnel, and nearly 20 sprinklers from Sakarya Regional Directorate of Forestry and nearly 20 personnel responded to the fires that occurred as a result of insensitive farmers burning their stubble. Authorities warned citizens not to burn stubble, while security forces imposed fines and administrative penalties on those who were found to burn stubble. – SAKARYA.
