The senator of the PPD and member of the Health Commission, Guido Girardi, demanded an urgent proposal from the Government to reform the system and end the systematic violation of human rights that, according to the parliamentarian, is carried out by Isapres.
Girardi denounced that, as a result of the pandemic, the waiting lists of patients who are not Covid-19 have been carefree, due to a lack of resources. The senator also pointed to the false term of preexistence in the private health system.
“Isapres are violating people’s health and lives“said Girardi who added that “the institution of the Isapres must cease to exist and, therefore, we have to make a reform where it is established a unique insurance that truly guarantees people, that it respects their human rights and that it does not violate them systematically as the Isapres are doing.
The senator added that “it is urgent to end the abuses of the Isapres, I believe that the country does not deserve to have institutions that systematically threaten the health and lives of people and that have millionaire profits.”
The parliamentarian assured that the opposition senators of the Health Commission are available to work, if necessary, every day to carry out a “profound reform “that ends” the abuses of the Isapres and strengthens the public system “Therefore, he concluded, “it only depends today on whether the Executive has the disposition to end one of the biggest abusers in this country.”
