The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) reported this Thursday that the use of the industry’s installed capacity in August stood at 58.4 percent.

The numbers indicate that it occurred a decrease of 2.1 percentage points compared to the same month last year, when the indicator stood at 60.5 percent.

The month-on-month comparison, for its part, marked an improvement of 1.6 percentage points compared to last July, when the use of installed capacity stood at 56.8%, amid the restrictions implemented to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

“The sectoral blocks that present levels of utilization of installed capacity higher than the general level are chemical substances and products (71.1%), non-metallic mineral products (70.4%), petroleum refining (69.1%), paper and cardboard (65.0%), basic metal industries (62.9%), tobacco products (61.5%) and food products and beverages (60.6%), “indicated Indec.
