Holder of a bachelor’s degree in journalism from UCL, he began his career as a sports journalist in 2002 for La DH, covering multiple disciplines, before gradually moving towards football and the Red Devils. He became head of the football section in 2014, then editor-in-chief of Sports in 2016. In this role, he was a driving force behind the digital transformation of his editorial staff. In 2018, he supervised the Les Sports + editorial project, one of the first 100% sports digital subscriptions launched by a generalist media in Europe. He also oversaw the multimedia coverage of several major events, including the last World Cup.
Last year he spent five months as a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Missouri. There, he carried out a research project on digital audience engagement through sports content. Since his return, he has used this experience to launch new projects, notably helping to develop the audio offer ofIPM in sports. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of Sports at The Last Hour / Sports + and Free.
Its mission will consist in ensuring the responsibility and the support of the editorial teams of sports in 360 ° (TV-radio-digital) and their productions. Benoît Delhautor will join RTBF in the coming weeks. Michel lecomte will pass the baton to the new director until the end of the year.
