Of seven state police officers who were injured in the ambush in Huazamota, in the municipality of Mezquital in Durango, three have been discharged, while four are stable and recovering.
Javier Castrellón Garza, Secretary of Public Security, reported that he has been in contact with them and their families. In a personal way, the state governor José Rosas Aispuro Torres visited them after the ambush where six elements and two civilians died.
The official said that they are attentive to recovery and treatment, while patrols and surveillance continues in Huazamota, Canoas, San Francisco de Ocotán, in the municipality of Mezquital.

He stressed that a tour was made by the corporation that he heads in the limits with Nayarit, in Los Brasiles, in Bahía de Banderas.
“We have been doing a lot of research, gathering information that is being incorporated into the investigation folder, already at the time the prosecution could give more data, but things remain calm,” said Castrellón Garza.
When questioned about the rumors that a cartel is entering Durango, he maintained that as long as there is no reliable and real evidence within an investigation folder, he would expect the authority to define it.
The person in charge of public security in Durango highlighted that the case of the ambush in Mezquital, on October 1, where eight people died, six of them state police, two civilians and seven elements were injured, will be attracted by the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR).
