Black Friday will take place on Friday, November 27, and you won’t miss the date of this giant clearance sale. This trade event comes to us from the United States, where it is held the day after Thanksgiving – a celebration commemorating the help of the natives to the first settlers in North America – on the fourth Friday of November.
At this time of year, Americans get into the preparations for the Christmas holidays. The brands therefore offer significant discounts the day after Thanksgiving.
It was the e-commerce companies that introduced the event in France in 2013, without changing the name. On the Internet, Black Friday is preceded by seven days of sales, known as “Cyber week” or “Black Friday week”. There will be a first highlight on Monday, November 30, which is called the “Cyber monday”.
This feast of consumption arouses controversy. Last December, the National Assembly adopted a specific amendment to better fight against misleading advertisements linked to Black Friday.
