Yesterday evening, during a interview broadcast on TF1 and France 2, Emmanuel Macron has decreed a curfew of at least four weeks in Ile-de-France and in the metropolises of Lille, Rouen, Saint-Etienne, Toulouse, Lyon, Grenoble, Aix-Marseille and Montpellier.
Asked about possible exemptions from this curfew, the President responded to journalists yesterday: “Obviously, for all those who return from work after 9 pm or those who work at night or even early in the morning, there will be an authorization, as well as for those who have health emergencies.”

This October 15, the day after Macron’s intervention, Prime Minister Jean Castex listed at a press conference the five possible reasons for “waiving” this curfew: health reasons, reasons professionals, helping a loved one in a situation of dependency, having to take a means of transport such as a train or a plane, and take out his pet.
During his press conference, Jean Castex said that train or plane tickets after 9 p.m. will be waived. “If you have your sleeper train, for example, or a plane after 9 pm, if you have your ticket, your proof of transport, you can go and take it and it will be worth a dispensation”, he assured.
Return of the certificate
For other reasons, such as during confinement, a certificate will be downloadable from tomorrow, October 16, on the website of the Ministry of the Interior. At the same press conference, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, assured that it will also be possible to fill in his certificate by hand, and on free paper.
For business trips, proof from the employer will also be required. A professional card may also be taken into account. According to the Minister of the Interior, this exceptional travel certificate will only be valid for one hour.
As specified by Emmanuel Macron on television, anyone who does not respect these rules will risk a fine of 135 euros. It will be increased in the event of a repeat offense.
