The Bernese cantonal police were warned on Wednesday, shortly after 2:50 p.m., of the announcement of a traffic accident that had occurred on the Grand-Rue, in Tavannes (BE), and involving a car and a pedestrian. For reasons still unknown, a young girl preparing to cross the pedestrian crossing in front of the Kebap was struck by a car arriving from Reconvilier.
The pedestrian was slightly injured in the accident. Supported by a team of paramedics, she was taken to hospital. A diversion was put in place for about an hour. Traffic was somewhat disrupted, according to a police statement.
Further investigations into the course and exact circumstances of the accident are underway.
