President Andrés Manuel López Obrador leads the Mexican Navy Day ceremony, which this year will be focused on recognizing the health personnel facing Covid-19.
The ceremony takes place on the esplanade of the Mexican Navy Secretariat, where a minute of silence is scheduled to commemorate the victims of the disease.
Also, special promotions will be granted for health personnel who have given care to Covid patients, both military and civilian personnel.
It is expected that only President López Obrador and the Secretary of the Navy, Rafael Ojeda Durán, will speak at the event.
Among the guests is the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum and there are also several members of the Cabinet, among them the Secretary of the Interior, Olga Sánchez Cordero, and the Chancellor, Marcelo Ebrard.
