The hydrogen taxi company Hype, headed by HysetCo, has announced a fundraising of 80 million euros and the acquisition of the taxi company Slota, which owns 600 vehicles in Paris.

Created in 2015, Hype manages around 100 hydrogen vehicles in the French capital. By redeeming Slota, an iconic taxi company founded in 1932, Hype industrialized and brewed much larger.

The 600 Diesel cars are expected to be gradually replaced by Toyota Mirai, making them ‘the world’s largest fleet of hydrogen taxis’, as the statement reported.

100 million euros

To carry out this project, Hysetco has raised no less than 80 million euros from investors such as RGreen Invest, Mirova, RAISE Impact and Eiffel Investment Group. Air Liquide, a hydrogen producer, also took part in this fundraising, bringing the total amount of the investment to 100 million euros.

The remaining amount of the investment – 20 million euros – will allow Hysetco to deploy additional charging stations. The company, which currently claims four charging points, plans to operate around 20 hydrogen stations by 2024.
