While the first resignation came from Grisham, Trump’s wife, Melania Trump’s Chief of Staff, Sarah Matthews and White House Social Affairs Manager Rickie Niceta were other names who resigned.
Trump’s wife Melania Trump’s Chief of Staff, Grisham, was the first person to resign, announcing that he left his post due to the events. Grisham, who also served as the White House Spokesperson for a period, said in a statement that he gladly fulfilled his duty but decided to resign after today’s events.
White House Deputy Spokesperson Sarah Matthews and White House Social Affairs Manager Rickie Niceta announced that they resigned due to the events in the following hours.

Joe Biden, who was elected president of the USA, called for “ending attacks on US democracy and the rule of law”. Biden said, “I call on President Trump to fulfill his oath on TV, to defend the Constitution and to demand an end to this siege.”
When Trump asked the demonstrators to go home, the crowd began to disperse, and the police responsible for the security of the US Congress announced that the security of the building was secured at around 17.40 local time, about 4 hours later.
