A 19-year-old man was killed by a stab in the stomach on Saturday early in the morning in Graz. As Hansjörg Bacher, spokesman for the Graz public prosecutor, said on APA request, the man was found seriously injured and died a short time later. In any case, the public prosecutor’s office assumes third-party negligence, said Bacher: “It can hardly have been an accident or suicide. We assume a homicide.”
Many circumstances are still unclear: “The situation is very confused,” said Bacher in the early afternoon. There was no information about a perpetrator, the course of events or the weapon used. The public prosecutor’s office also did not want to disclose information about the crime scene for tactical reasons.
An autopsy took place on Saturday afternoon. A knife stab in the stomach was found, said Bacher. Bleeding to death was assumed to be the cause of death. There was still no further information with reference to the ongoing investigation.
