It’s been over a year since Jonny Fischer and his stage partner Manu Burkart stood on a stage. The fact that the comedy duo Divertimento cannot perform because of Corona has both good and bad sides for Fischer.
On January 31, a year ago, divertimento comedian Jonny Fischer, 41, sniffed the stage for the last time and, together with his stage partner Manu Burkart, 43, made the audience laugh. “Who would have thought …”, Fischer posted for a video on Instagram. Although he has to go through the lockdown without a stage, he is still a long way from unemployed, as he currently assures on the phone and tells his fans via social media.
On the stage, Fischer mainly does nonsense, in real life he is now “chatting” as a speaker and motivator for Business Schmiede Schweiz. The company founded by the ex-professional footballer Adi Lang (including FC Luzern) is primarily active in the training landscape. “Against it is cold water,” writes Fischer.
Fischer also has his hands full otherwise. “At the moment I am choosing the pictures and the layout for my biography which will be released in September.” I also have to make sure that my second company is running in the health and fitness industry. Here too, Fischer is struggling with the effects of the pandemic.
While he found the first lockdown last spring “interesting” at first, now he’s finally longing for normalcy again. “Even if we can entertain our audience with film clips on social media, and people also write to us that they think it’s funny and great, it is different to hear and see people clapping live. I really miss the real applause, ”says the comedian.
This year the Cabaretduo Divertimento is celebrating its 20th stage anniversary. “I’m looking forward to it like crazy,” admits Fischer. What began two decades ago with a few funny video clips from two boys has led to one of the most successful comedian careers in Switzerland. Fischer longs to return to the stage because of this anniversary. “We hope to be able to perform for the first time in May, but think that it will be September before we can enjoy the applause of our audience live again.”
