One year after the start of the health crisis, the Hyères Festival, which rewards young fashion talents, is adapting and shifting its festive days. However, the presidents of the jury have already been chosen.
Two big names in fashion will therefore be present for this new edition of the Hyères Festival. Christian Louboutin, the dream shoemaker, and Louise Trotter, the mastermind at the head of Lacoste, will be the presidents of the jury of this 36th editing. They will respectively chair the “accessories” category and the “fashion” category.
But like any event taking place recently, the organization must be adapted according to the possibilities and health constraints. As of 2020, the festival is already seeing its date shifted to October 15 until October 17. A change of program that will not prevent festival-goers or the good weather from being there. “We were very happy with the way it went [l’an passé, ndlr]. This October date worked for everyone, we renewed it for this 2021 edition, especially since fashion schools were closed in January, when registrations are usually open. We wanted to give more time and the possibility to young people to work serenely on their file ”, confides Jean-Pierre Blanc, the founder, to our colleagues of“ Fashion Network ”. Once is not custom, it is at Villa Noailles that all the creative gratin will meet.
In this pivotal period for young fashion talents, the Hyères Festival can prove to be a significant springboard. Each of the three juries in fashion, accessories and photography selected ten finalists. The fashion category will be represented by: Arttu Arfeldt, Mengche Chiang, Venla Elonsalo, Sofia Ilomen, Laima Jurca & Marta Veinberga, Ifeanyi Okwuadi, Rukpong Raimaturapong, Adeline Rappaz, Elina Silina as well as Mateo Velasquez.
