In a new daily part of the health situation, the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health reported encouraging news: for the first time since the start of the pandemic, in the last 24 hours there were no deaths from Covid-19. In the same health report, 131 new positive cases of coronavirus were reported during the last day.

Thus, the total number of infected rose to 503,633 and the number of deaths remained at 11,771. The fatality rate, that is, the percentage of deaths over positive diagnoses, stood at 2.34%.

Regarding the vaccination plan, the health authorities reported that 4,127,482 doses of anticovid-19 drugs have already been applied in the Buenos Aires territory. Of that total, 2,272,800 belong to the first dose and 1,831,288 to the second.

This Thursday, the occupancy of intensive care beds in the public health system reached 8.1%. As detailed, 49 beds are occupied with people in serious condition, out of a total of 600 available for patients in this situation. The report adds that in moderate cases, occupancy is 3.4% (52 out of 1,500 available) and in mild cases, 2.7% (137 out of 5,000).

Meanwhile, in the private sector, ICU beds reflect 19.4% occupancy (238 serious cases out of a total of 1,222 beds prepared for intensive care). While for moderate patients there are 386 occupied beds out of the 2,530 available, that is, 15.2%.

Deaths in the City since the beginning of the pandemic

Since the arrival of the pandemic in Argentina, a total of 5,890,382 swabs have been carried out in the City, with a cumulative positivity index of 26.6; while yesterday 18,342 swabs were performed, with an average positivity of 2%.

The accumulated total of deaths in Caba is 11,771, while the number of people infected since March 2020 is 503,633, the accumulated discharges are 466,933.
