Crystal Palace and the Red Devil beat Wolverhampton (2-0) on Matchday 11 of the Premier League this weekend.
Christian Benteke played his 266th Premier League meeting on Saturday, making him the most capped Belgian in the English league. He thus exceeds Vincent Kompany who had 265 meetings. Marouane Fellaini completes the podium with 260 matches to his counter. However, Romelu Lukaku (259 games played) should soon appear as the Eagles player points out.
“Very happy to have become the Belgian player with the most appearances in the Premier League. It is an honor to represent my country in the best league in the world and to be alongside such big names. Romelu Lukaku, I see you brother! ”Benteke tweeted.
Benteke had put down his bags in England in 2012 on the side of Aston Villa (89 games) before joining Liverpool (29 games). At Crystal Palace since 2016, he has played 148 games for the Eagles. Benteke has scored 84 goals and provided 22 assists in 266 Premier League games.
