The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of the province of Buenos Aires, Martín Insaurralde; the Buenos Aires Minister of Security, Sergio Berni; and the Mayor of the Municipality of Florencio Varela, Andrés Watson, were present at the registration day for the Police Training Schools of the Province, in which 2,400 Varelenses signed up as candidates for cadets of the Buenos Aires security force. The provincial senator for the third section Adrián Santarelli also participated.
“We are working to achieve the registration of 20 thousand residents as cadets of the Police of the province of Buenos Aires. This is a historic renewal of our police force. We aim to double the police force in Greater Buenos Aires by 2023, ”said Chief of Staff Martín Insaurralde. “Very happy with the decision that the governor, Axel Kicillof, has taken in terms of security, equipment for the force, the retraining of the troops that is already working and with this huge call of applicants that we are making,” he completed.
The activity, which took place in Thevenet Park, was a new approach by the provincial government authorities with those who aspire to be part of the Buenos Aires security forces. Those who are selected will enter the police school from the 2022 cycle.
Security Minister Sergio Berni highlighted “the vocation of service, dedication and sacrifice of the aspiring cadets.” In addition, he highlighted: “We are going to add 40,000 new police officers to the Conurbano between this year and next, doubling its operational capacity on the street, it is something unprecedented in the 200 years of the force. We will have the opportunity to do so thanks to the political decision of Governor Axel Kicillof and an economic effort by the Chief of Staff that will allow us to make this historic change to provide a fundamental solution to a structural problem ”.
During the day, the aspiring cadets participated in two talks by the provincial authorities. In the first, they learned about the final registration process and the steps to follow in order to be selected. In the second, they talked about the training they will receive at the police school once they enter.
Finally, Watson expressed his joy at the call: “We are very happy to receive the Chief of Staff and the Minister of Security. Those registered are residents of Florencio Varela who wish to register with the police for their vocation of service. It is a great success. We will meet them again in March of next year, after training at the Vucetich School, so that they can finally start working at Florencio Varela ”.
